Where are the wine regions?
The wine regions are all in the Eastern part of Austria, from Weinviertel in the north over Traisental in the middle to Styria in the South. -> In the folder above you the wine regions are described in more detail on page 11.
Which soils are common in Austria?
Clay over limestone. The more limestone the more mineralic are the wines, eg in Traisental. -> In the folder above you will find the wine regions on page 11.
What is typical for Austrian wines?
Austrian wines are full-bodied, balanced, have a backbone from fine acidity. Austria stands for TOP-white wines with great price-quality relationships. The worldwide reknown grape varitey GRÜNER VELTLINER is of Austrian origin. With their mineralic and slightly sweet expression Austrian wines are a perfect food pairer for Asian food.
